Florence, to an Italian it is the capital of Tuscany, but to its foreign guests it’s a wonderous city offering a little bit of everything to make it the ideal relaxing city break.

No matter what you are looking for, you’ll find it here!…  Romance? How about an early evening stroll, hand in hand with your loved one, looking at the quaint little jewellery shops on the unique Ponte Vecchio bridge…  Architecture? Well, you’ll have to go a long way to find a more beautiful building than the Duomo, Florence’s world famous cathedral that was finally completed in 1436, with the most wonderful red, green and white marble facade…  Art? Tick another box, in the Accademia di Belle Arti they have Michelangelo’s David, one of the worlds most famous sculptures!… Restaurants? Yes, yes, yes, the same high quality Italian cuisine you’ll find in Rome at half the price, with restaurants filled with that typical Italian buzz and crackling Tuscan ambiance.

Infact, once you’ve added cliff top views of the city from one of their hop on – hop off bus tours, a multitude of other museums and galleries, both high end designer shopping and daily street markets, a top level football team for sport junkies, a range of lovely 3, 4 and 5 star hotels, plus the bonus of trips to nearby Pisa and Siena, there’s no reason left to consider anywhere else for your next city break.

So how do you get there?
Florence does have an airport of its own but its not very large. Generally most flights go into Pisa which is 45 minutes away, but the city is easily accessible by bus from the airport and they drop you off at the Santa Maria Novella Railway Station in the heart of the city, a short walk or even shorter taxi cab ride from your hotel.

So why not give it a go! If its on your ‘list’ then promote it to the top and if its not then add it straight away, and prepare yourself to be amazed!
