The Hungarian capital can offer some excellent top class hotels

The city of Budapest has come alive in recent years and offers tourists a bewitching mix of history and culture. From the architecture of Buda, to the boulevards of Pest, famous cuisine to thermal baths, there is much to experience on a short break to Budapest..

“Must see” sights include the Parliament Building, one of the largest state buildings in Europe, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Andrassy Avenue and the Castle District including the Royal Palace, Mattias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion.  With summer over, temperatures in September and early October are generally still warm enough to enjoy the garden bars and promenades along the River Danube.

There are plenty of good quality hotels in the centre of Budapest offering exceptional value for money, but for those looking for a touch of luxury on their city break, there are some excellent 5* hotels which won’t break the bank.  In the quieter months between November and March the 5* Corinthia Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for something very special at an affordable price.  One of the grandest hotels in the city, the Corinthia occupies an impressive landmark building with an imposing Neo-classical façade and soaring glass atrium. The hotel offers guests a choice of elegant eateries and destination bars for even the most discerning traveller.

Another 5* hotel, the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge boasts spectacular views of the famous Chain Bridge and has a prime location near the River Danube, the Hungarian Parliament, the Budapest Opera and the Castle District in downtown. Hotel facilities include a luxury spa with a pool and saunas, a gourmet Hungarian restaurant with show kitchen and a stylish bar.  Again, it’s worth looking for low season deals to this superb hotel.

Anyone looking for a stylish, elegant boutique hotel need look no further than the 4* Hotel Parlament, superbly located in the heart of Budapest, only a few steps from the  River Danube.  The Parlament is a very comfortable hotel with modern bedrooms designed in minimalistic style.  It also offers guests a wellness area with a sauna and jacuzzi.
