Some good deals can often be found at Prague’s top hotels

Prague is a great city to visit if you’re looking for value for money. The hotels are often very reasonably priced, particularly during the quieter months from November to March (although during the Christmas Market season availability can be limited). The cost of living in the city is also fairly inexpensive for the tourist from the UK, with restaurants and shops offering some attractive prices.

Those wanting a taste of luxury could do far worse than book a room at the sumptuous 5* U Prince. This historic hotel enjoys a wonderful location in the heart of Prague. Guests can experience the outdoor terrace where you can sit right on the Old Town Square, with a view of the Old Town Hall and its astronomical clock dating from the 14th century. The rooms offer a very high standard of comfort and are individually decorated with antique furniture.

The 5* Hotel Intercontinental also enjoys an enviable location in the heart of the city close to the Vltava River and the Old Town. In contrast with the U Prince, this is a modern luxury hotel. It boasts a panoramic rooftop restaurant, the Zlata Praha, which affords spectacular views of the city. Other facilities include a spa and health suite with a swimming pool. Rooms are spacious with modern furnishings and have been refurbished in pale woods and warm colours. The marble bathrooms have all the facilities that one would expect of a five-star hotel.

Both of these two luxury hotels occupy a fantastic central location. Each one is close to the majestic Old Town Square, a great place to start any visit to Prague.. In the square is the huge Tyn Church with its twin 80m gothic towers, an important baroque altar and a 17th century pipe organ. The Town Hall Tower features the Astronomical Clock which has been in service since 1490. From here it is just a short walk to the most famous Vltava crossing, Charles Bridge. There are great views of the city from the ramparts.

The 5* Hotel Mamaison Riverside is set in a stunning Art Nouveau building on the West Bank of the Vltava River in the trendy Smichov district. The Riverside Hotel offers stylish accommodation, fantastic service, and a warm and friendly Czech welcome. The rooms are elegantly designed, well-equipped and welcoming. The hotel can be found just a short walk from Charles Bridge, and is ideally placed for a visit to Prague Castle.
